Science
known fact is that long-term exposure to various chemicals
substances leads to their accumulation in the remarkable human beings.
Such chemicals are preservatives, pesticides, artificial
fertilizers, antibiotics and many, many others. Some of these chemicals
enter the body with food to consume. Adopted by other
air that we breathe. Studies show that chemicals
can enter the body through the skin, it is shown that about
60% of the chemicals that come into contact with the skin may be
absorbed in the human body. All these chemicals are harmful to
man! Popular cosmetic manufacturers use such harmful
chemicals solely because they are very cheap.
Main
Organic principle in cosmetic products is prevention, protection.
If there is research that create even a little doubt about
safety of certain chemicals on humans and nature,
these ingredients are banned for use.
Therefore, in Organic cosmetic products is prohibited for use
harmful to health or suspected synthetic chemical ingredients.
Here are some examples of commonly used chemicals in
common, including luxury and expensive cosmetics and marks
their impact on human beings and the environment:
Preservatives
Any cosmetic product containing preservatives
which prevent the development of bacteria, fungi and molds, and
prevent oxidation processes. One of the most frequently used
preservatives are Parabenite ( Paraben preservatives - Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben).
Parabenite are highly toxic, cause allergic reactions
cause skin rashes, falling under the eyes caused
irritation, redness and pain. Recently the group was parabenite
associated with tumors of the breast, because the female hormone similar
estrogen. "The discovery of tumor samples in parabeni lead to general
hypothesis that there is a link between their use in cosmetic
products and breast cancer "- quote from" Journal of Applied Toxicology, vol. 24, 2004 p.1-4 "
In men parabenite may cause serious prolemi in gender
system, including reduced levels of testosterone, testicular
atrophy and infertility.
After parabenite most commonly used preservatives are Imidazolidinyl
Urea and Diazolidinyl Urea - "hazardous substances associated with skin
hypersensitivity - Australian Government Final Report on Hazard
Classification of Skin Sensitisers, January 2005 ". Diazolidinyl Urea contains formaldehyde (formaldehyde),
which is carcinogenic, toxic for inhalation, a strong skin irritant and cause contact dermatitis.
Organic preservatives used in cosmetic products also
prevent the development of bacteria, fungi and molds, but extracts
plants such as seed Tsitrosovo tree, rosemary, resin by
Myrrh (Myrrhis odorata) and others. and are completely harmless.
Surfactant
Surfactant are those that form the foam
in cosmetic products such as shampoos, shower gels, foam bath and for others.,
including baby and children's ones. The most commonly used are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS),
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) and Ammonium Laureth Sulfate (ALES).
Hichichni these substances cause irritation and redness
skin. In combination with other substances, form nitrosamines,
which are highly carcinogenic. "Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is used
anywhere in the world in clinical studies as a substance causing
irritated skin - "Journal of the American School of Toxicology, Vol. 2, No. 7 ".
These substances are used in the manufacture of washing
preparations for cars, chemicals for washing in, preparations for cleaning
from fat, including machine oils and 90% of the ordinary
cosmetic products which form the foam. Others are so-called Surfactant Ethoxylated surfactants - Polyethylene Glycol (PEG).
About 50 percent of cosmetic products containing these Surfactant form 1,4 dioxane, which is carcinogenic.
In Organic cosmetics are used peniteli derived
plants - for example from coconut oil or corn
as wheat.
Products from the processing of petroleum, mineral oils and liquid paraffin
These include: Mineral oil, Liquidum paraffinum, Paraffin oil, Paraffin wax, Petrolatum.
Petroleum derivatives are also Propylene Glycol and Butylene Glycol, which are highly toxic.
Mineral oil does not moisten the skin. Their molecules
are too long to penetrate the skin and therefore they
form a surface film on the skin as blocked pores As I.
This way they retain moisture in the skin, but do not allow separation
of harmful toxins. These substances interfere with the skin to breathe and
absorb fat soluble vitamins, which deteriorated significantly
state of suffering from dermatitis and eczema. - "The Pharmaceutical Journal, vol. 271, 2003."
Cause acne. Also, these products speed up the process of
aging of the skin, helping to formation of free radicals.
Besides all the manufacturing processes of these oil
products extremely polluted environment.
In organic cosmetic products do not use products
processing of oil, but only those from natural plant sources
such as palm kernel oil, olive oil, almond oil,
Sunflower oil and Beeswax.
("Pafrum", "Fragrance") and colors
Modern studies have undisputed link between the use of
artificial flavors and colors with frequent cases of dermatitis.
"19% of children with eczema are sensitive to artificial fragrances and
colors - Contact Dermatitis, vol. 48, p.59, 2003 "Very strong allergens are called
phthalates ("phthalates"), commonly used in synthetic fragrances, nail varnishes and
others.
The aroma of Organic cosmetic products come from natural flavor
incorporated in them plants, flowers and essential oils. Compare these
ingredients with unknown designation of most traditional cosmetic
products - "Parfum" and "Fragrance", which may mean that
up to 4 000 chemical substances, many of them toxic or carcinogenic.
Emulsifiers
Any cosmetic product that contains ingredients to water and oil-based emulsifiers needs
(eg Carbomer 941).
This is a substance that helps the two generally opposed
ingredients to be mixed in obtaining such a cream or lotion. Diethanolamine (DEA),
Monoethanolamine (MEA), Triethanolamine (TEA)
- Originally used as peniteli, these substances are used
as thickeners and binding agents, and TEA is used to achieve
pH balance. There is evidence that cause skin rashes. May
form nitrosamines which are carcinogenic. According to Dr. Samuel Epstein
(Professor of Environmental Health at the University of Illinois), - "The continuous
application of skin products such as DEA, possibly leading to increasing cases of
liver cancer and kidneys ".
In Organic cosmetics are used only natural
vegetable emulsifiers, for example, derived from vegetable oils of
Coconut, palm nuts, or olive oil.
Silicon
Silicones (Dimethicone, Dimethicone Copolyol, Cyclomethicone)
clog the pores of the skin and not allowed to breathe, thus
cause irritation and inflammation. Accumulate in the liver and
lymph nodes, and some cause tumors. Also, they are
nerazgradimi biological and environmental damage.
Not used in Organic cosmetic products.
Lanolin
Lanolinat represents masnopodobno substance obtained from subcutaneous
fat sheep. May be contaminated with harmful chemicals. Not
Organic used in cosmetic products.
Alcohol
Alcohol dries the skin and irritating and makes it vulnerable to bacteria
molds and viruses. May cause the appearance of brown spots on skin
and premature aging. Not used in Organic cosmetic
products.
Many popular cosmetic manufacturers use in products
its large number of inactive ingredients, such as water (70% or more) and
synthetic chemical ingredients, to achieve greater consistency
a pleasant feeling in the application on the skin, pleasant aroma and a longer
life of the product through artificial preservatives. All this - in order
achieve the lowest possible cost. Certified Organic
products with high percentage of active plant
ingredients. They contain more than 90 percent organic active ingredients, while
most popular marks the active ingredients (not
organic) is less than 6 percent. Organic products are very effective and
concentrated, hence the use of a small amount is fully
enough and the price is advantageous because they are used very
a long time.

Certification
Organic cosmetic products are subject to
strict surveillance and subject to certification.
There are producers who abuse the name
"organic, bio, natural, and others. but their products do not meet the
stringent standards Organic product. Only cosmetic products
covering standards Organic product may be labeled with
logo of the certification organization and is the only guarantee for
Organic really authentic product. There are several international
organizations carrying out such certification. One of
most famous and authoritative organizations is the British "Soil
Association ", founded in 1946 as a non-governmental,
charitable donations and independent organization. Other known
organization is the American USDA (United States Department of
Agriculture) - Department of Agriculture of the United States. In particular
authority is used and the Australian ACO (Australian Certified Organic).
Here is what is required to make any producer to receive
maintain certification of their products before certification organization
such as the British "Soil Association", which is known for
maintaining the strictest standards: to demonstrate the organic status of
each ingredient used, the formula to provide all new
products and packaging to the organization for a thorough inspection, to be
inspected annually by the certification organization, which includes
inspection of manufacturing facilities and processes, and verification of
used raw materials, to have documented
evidence that all non-organic ingredients may be substituted with
those with an organic quality and are not genetically modified, to
provide detailed environmental information and information for
safety.
Certified by the Soil Association Organic products must contain
least 95 percent organic ingredients. These products, which have between 70 and
95% content organik ingredients are termed "by
organic ingredients ".
